The Waves Have Come by Chelsea Wolfe is one of the most beautiful, haunting pieces of music I have heard in long while.
Simple production, a piano riff to break hearts to, and some lovely string action (a cello – always had a soft spot for the cello as I used to play one at school) combine to create a piece of wondrous beauty. Even when the drums kick in, the beauty remains.
Pain is Beauty is released today on Sargent House, and I’m going to do all I can to listen to it in full and review. I have high hopes!
