Victories at Sea – Siren

For fans of brutalism and post-punk alike, Birmingham trio Victories at Sea have released the video for their latest single, Sirens.

Encapsulating their recording space (an abandoned steel works in Digbeth [also home to the National Express bus station – I speak from bitter experience here!]), Sirens starts as a slow tempo instrumental that is cinematic whilst maintaining an intimate feel. Add in drums, haunting repeated vocals and the odd harmony here and there, and you have a track reminiscent of The Longcut and The Chameleons, but with a black country twist.

It precedes their debut album Everything Forever, which will be released on October 30th on Static Caravan.
