Less Win – Rituals

Denmark’s Less Win have released the video for the lead track off of their forthcoming UK debut album, titled Rituals and Trust respectively.

Developing from a drum machine backed trio to a fully fledged trio, Less Win combine strong post-punk influences with an appreciation that music can be more than just three instruments played at one time.

The video for Rituals was filmed in Denmark’s National Gallery, and the ballet dancer represents a ritual in itself. Explains drummer Matthew Moller:

The idea of a dancer performing a piece to accompany this song – her performance being a ‘ritual’ in itself – reinforces the themes behind the lyric; the idea that people repeat things, perform tasks and make personal decisions that become so ritualised that they lose any objective meaning. They become force of habit…For her to be dancing amongst art that in itself embodies an ideal of religion and culture, divinity and other human rituals is heavily ironic and humorous to us.

Rituals will be released on Big Oil Recordings on the 17th of June.
