SPIES – Uriah

If you missed Ireland’s SPIES the first time, like myself, then it’s an ideal time to catch them this second time around. Like myself.

Having gained attention earlier on in their career from the likes of The Guardian and the NME the Dublin based quintet of Michael Broderick, Neil Dexter, Conor Cusack, Hugh O’Dwyer and Jeffrey Courtney released their first material in two years with their Young Dad single. Uriah is being released as a single on Friday 23rd June, and both of these singles serve as a percursor to their debut album Constancy.

Replete with swirling electronic synths, flighty percussion, and rhythms galore Uriah is a telling of the story of Uriah and King David. As an atheist I’ll take their word for it, as a lover of music, it’s a bloody good song.
