London trio Mt. Wolf have released their new single The Electric, and to go with this cinematic track they also have an accompanying video.
Grand in sound and scope The Electric can be seen on a single level, a song of lost love and yearning. Yet, taken in conjunction with the video it becomes a treatise on the condition of man in the present, and how we should have learnt from past mistakes.
Seeing the lyrics against the backdrop of American army nuclear tests really brings home the message of past damage, and how things have not changed aside from what we see on the surface.
The Electric is the first single to be taken from Mt. Wolf’s album, which is due to be released this summer. I don’t think I’ll be the only one looking forward to it on the strength of this.
